There are over 135 Egyptian Pyramids discovered in Egypt. Most of the Pyramids were built as tombs for the country s Pharaohs during the ancient times. The most famous of these Pyramids are those in Giza which is on the outskirts of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The largest pyramid which is where Cy and JJ are walking towards is actually the one in the background which looks smaller - but only because the others were built on higher ground. It is called the Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid.
Behind and to the right of Cy and JJ is the Great Sphinx. A Sphinx is a mythical creature that has a human head and a lions body. Long long ago when the Sphinx was built it represented the sun god.
